You must read The Orphan's Tales: In the Night Garden and play Devil Summoner 2! Because the latter has a seemingly-so-far-kickass young woman with an extensive vocabulary (plus it takes place in 1920s-1930s Japan and c'mon that's awesome) and the former has a story (within a story within a story within...) where there is a tribe of people who believe the universe was created by a mare.
